HP Village Update

With the addition of Akris and Brian Bolke’s Number One/Les Jus now open for business, I'm still waiting in anticipation for Saint Laurent Paris’ debut at Highland Park Village.

The Louboutin-neighboring storefront has been vacant for quite a while due to some shake-up inside the company. But DFW Style Daily recently reported that Saint Laurent Paris (formerly YSL) desires all new stores to reflect the aesthetic of the new head designer, and we should be patiently awaiting their opening sometime this Q1. While I can't afford anything with a YSL label on it, the brand was one of the first to transform my view of fashion. Catherine Deneuve once said of her friend Yves Saint Laurent that he “designs for women who lead double lives.” 

Meanwhile, those hammering sounds from behind the façade of the former Cooter’s camera shop are signs of progress at the upcoming Christian Dior boutique. While no official opening date has been set, construction has started on this yet another designer addition to the Village. 

For those Dallasites, I'm interested to know your thoughts on the "Village" ... Has it gotten to exclusive and upscale?
