WE Over ME

This past week we attended a really neat fundraising event on behalf of The Real Estate Council (TREC) called "A Community Cooks" at Paul Quinn College. TREC's 2012 Associate Leadership Council (ALC) class partnered with Paul Quinn to assist with the colleges' vision to positively impacting the supply of healthy food in South Dallas. Members of the class worked diligently to transform the school's football field into the "WE Over ME Farm" planting fruits and vegetables that can be sold to area families. With the nearest grocery store four miles away, and coupled with the transportation issues faced by low-income neighborhoods, this results in significantly limited access to healthy food. The Farm will now provide fresh food for many years to come. Enjoy some photos!
